There’s nothing like walking through a Lincoln Center presentation of in-your-face glamour at 8:30 in the morning to perk you up. Bathed in a subtle, boudoir red glow and soundtracked with lusty Goldfrapp and legendary vintage love songs (think: a sexy, sexy version of My Funny Valentine), Norisol Ferrari presented her Fall 2012 collection, labeling it the “seductive power of glamour.”
With luxe leather, mink, sable, alligator and python, this was a collection fabricated from the decadent, exquisite materials and taste of an enviable Hollywood era gone by. A high-waisted pencil skirt and strapless corseted gown here, a floor length chocolate cashmere coat with fox detailing and satin gown there—each piece was rooted in femininity and that aforementioned seductive glamour. But melding python and lace to create a a strapless gown, interweaving conservative black tweed with a carnivorous blood red, and embellishing a dress with a harness or hardcore headdress brought it to a level of sexually dominant power that can take any woman from wall flower to Garden of Eden in zero to six.
