@AriGold @DDDmagazineI met Ari Gold a few years ago in New York while he was promoting his rollicking film, Adventures of Power. As we chatted in front of Arrow Bar on Ave A, I felt he was a creative kindred spirit. There was something very open and honest about him, and now after watching his very personal film Helicopter, I can see why.
It was unknown to me during that brief meeting that Ari and I had both lost our mother around the same time. Mine from cancer, and his mother from a tragic accident documented in Helicopter. This touching short film beautifully expresses some of his grief regarding the lost of his mother that tragic helicopter crash, with her partner, legendary rock promoter Bill Graham, 20 years ago.
